About Me

I am a local WNY photographer looking to help families capture important memories. Finding a new family photographer can be a challenge with so many to choose from these days, but I’d like for you to get to know me better, and see if we would make a great fit!

My name is Brittany Munn; I am a wife, and a mother to three beautiful children, two boys and one girl.  I was born and raised right here in WNY with two hard working, devoted parents and one younger sister who has always had my back. I grew up with many hobbies- softball, playing the french horn, biking and outdoor hiking/tree climbing, but one long term passion has been Photography. My family has a history in photography that has left a huge impression on my life. My grandfather use to be a wedding photographer working with an old Mamiya C220 (pretty remarkable how far the photography industry has come since then!); his wife (my grandma) has always had a desire to capture every family gathering and moment, so much so, that her nickname became “Flash Miller.” Their passion impacted my father, which in turn was passed down to me! I took a couple elective courses in high school, and then one in college, but a large part of what I have learned has come from him. 

Back in 2015, the youngest of my three kids was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia, at 4 months old, and was found to be in Stage 4 liver failure. Capturing moments with our son became very important to me, since we didn’t know if we would have him in our lives much longer. Thanks to many wonderful people, we were blessed with the gift of photography.

We walked through a hard trial, but God walked with with us, and guided every step. One verse that I held tight to was John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Take Heart Studios is named from this verse. The peace we felt through our journey, no matter what the outcome was to be, was indescribable!  Today, our son is a healthy active boy thanks to God, the Live Liver Donation option, and his very special daddy!

So this is me! A wife, and mother of three, who knows the value of preserving memories. Our families are constantly changing and growing, so capturing the “now” and retaining this special time can be very meaningful.
